Typical alpha: 6.0 - 9.0%. A new US variety with a grapefruit-like aroma similar to Cascade, but with a higher alpha acid content.

Cascade Hops

Typical alpha: 4.5-7.0%. One of the most popular hop varieties out there. Cascade is great for bittering, flavor and aroma. It is also used in popular beers like: Anchor Liberty Ale, Sierra-Nevada Pale Ale, and most other West Coast ales.

Centennial Hops

Typical alpha: 9.0-12.0%. Centennial is known as the "super Cascade". Higher alpha acid allow this to be used as a great bittering hop and it give the famous citrus flavor and aromas that cascade is known for.

 

Chinook Hops

Typical alpha: 11.0-13.0%. This is a good bittering hop, however, used in large quantities it can impart a harsh bitterness. Best used in pale ale, IPAs or anything that needs some solid bitterness. Aroma and flavor is often described as piney, earthy and spicy.

East Kent Golding Hops

Typical alpha: 4.0-6.0%A wonderful noble hop, good for ales and lagers and is sometimes used in belgians. Provides an earthy, spicy flavor and aroma.

Fuggles Hops

Hallertau Hops
